Video marketing right now is one of the fastest growing areas online. And with YouTube being the most used video platform right now it would make sense to know how to promote your videos to YouTube.

Notice I said the most used video platform “right now”, I’ll get to that later. Anyone not using video in their business (because these statistics I’m getting ready to up my game) could be doing themselves a big disservice.

According to this Cisco Report, it says that video will continue to dominate IP traffic and overall internet traffic growth that by 2021 it will be representing 80% of all internet traffic. The report also went on to say that by 2021 the world will reach three trillion video minutes per month. That is staggering!

5 Tips How To Promote Your Videos To YouTube

If you’re posting your videos on YouTube… as you should be… you want to make sure you’re giving your videos their best chance of being found by Google and by YouTube searchers. This is when YouTube optimization can become one of the most important part to your online video marketing.

What is YouTube Optimization?

Simply put, YouTube optimization is making sure your main keyword phrase is appropriately placed throughout your video entry.

I’ve outlined for you all the places that you should focus on. Now, I can tell you that there are quite a few advanced YouTube optimization techniques… but I can’t share them all in one video or article.

These tips are the basics… what you should be doing for every video you upload to YouTube. Master the basics, and then move on to more advanced strategies.

What is YouTube Optimization?

5 Ways To YouTube Optimization

Video Title

Place your main keyword phrase in the first part of your video title. Now, don’t make your title JUST the keyword phrase. That’s dull and you won’t stand out among your competitors. You can add words around it.

So, let’s say your keyword phrase is “video marketing”. Your video title could be “6 tips for video marketing” or “video marketing is awesome”. OK that last example isn’t a great title… but you get the point.

Video Description

Your video description should start with your main keyword phrase… and then followed by your destination URL. Then include an enticing 2 to 3 sentence description of the video with your keyword phrase used once or twice naturally.

It should like this: Video Marketing http://somelink.com Watch this video to learn about Video Marketing because it’s awesome! And so on…

5 Ways To YouTube Optimization

Destination URL

If your destination URL is to your blog post, try to make your blog post name include the keyword phrase. Then paste the complete URL in the description. Google will use this to rank your video.

So, on your blog, the URL to your post is http://someblog.com/video-marketing-exposed

Paste that full URL in the video description and don’t even bother with a bitly or short link.

Tags

Include your main keyword phrase and at least 4 closely related keyword phrases in the tags field. You can find these keywords when you use the Google Keyword Tool. I’m not going to show you how to do keyword research in this article… that’s an entire course’s worth of training!

Video File Name

Name your video file name with your main keyword phrase. So, for this example, name your file “video-marketing.mp4”. Every little bit helps and tells YouTube and Google that this video is very relevant to that keyword phrase.

Pretty simple right? These are not small things to overlook. Your video’s YouTube optimization can be the one thing that prevents your video from being ranked over your competitor. So, do it right.

OK… now that you know the basics of YouTube Optimization… take action today and apply these tips to your online video marketing strategy.

video marketing strategy

A lot of businesses though have been slow to respond to the video marketing opportunities. Here are a few basic tips on video marketing if you have been thinking about marketing your business using video.

1. Rather, keep your videos brief, as people do not want to watch a movie.

In a matter of a few minutes you can create informative, yet short and catchy videos.

2. Stay away from blatant advertising. Turning their videos into an advertisement about their company is a mistake many people make.

Rather, target a specific topic and provide some useful information about it. By including your website URL at the bottom of every screenshot you can get plenty of good advertising.

3. Search engine optimization still applies. SEO should be implemented into your videos.

SEO

By implementing SEO, you stand a much better chance of seeing your video rank on the search engine results when people are searching for a specific keyword phrase. One of the main benefits of video marketing is getting your videos ranked in the search engines.

4. Add your videos to your site. This is not difficult to do, simply copy the embed code from your video and post it on your blog.

This is a good way to market your company using a video. Whilst giving life to your blog it also helps enhance your own credibility online.

5. Submit your video. There is no point in making a video if you are not going to submit it online where people can find it.

youtube video submission

There are online submission services you can use to reach multiple shared video sites. Another option is to manually submit your site to the most important places such as YouTube.

6. Convert your articles videos. If you are technically challenged you can take your existing articles and turn them into videos using an article converter.

A good example of this is Article Video Robot which enables you to create videos and submit them in a matter of minutes. You can use your prewritten articles and just paste them into their article converter.

Using their advanced editor, you can make your video as fancy as you want it to be including adding graphics and voice to it. Then you can submit it to shared video sites with the click of a button.

The above are several useful tips on video marketing to keep in mind. Every Internet business owner should include video marketing in their marketing mix.

Introducing The Next Big Thing In Video Marketing – EyeSlick

Introducing The Next Big Thing In Video Marketing – EyeSlick

The reason why I said earlier that YouTube is the most used video platform right now, but soon it may not be because of eyeSlick. With eyeSlick you are able to do so much more than with YouTube.

This is the perfect video platform for anyone in business. The expert in a field can receive calls from the live video platform and the caller is charged (your cost per minute) for them to be able to talk to you for your expert advice. How cool is that?

vTail platform

Also, this is the only vTail platform of its kind. It’s video + retail = vTail. EyeSlick is bringing video and ecommerce together. It’s taking video marketing to the next level.

eyeSlick vTail

Already on YouTube you can import your videos to eyeSlick and a lot more income streams are opened up to you.

You can take the same marketing tips and use them on eyeSlick and get better results. You heard it here first folks.

I believe this amazing video platform will be out performing YouTube very soon. They’re just getting started and they are about to take over. That’s all I have to say about that.

According to a report on video marketing by HubSpot over 50% of customers want to see more videos. As you can see by the chart below.

video content chart

In summing up, video marketing is growing and it’s here to stay. It’s not slowing down and the market will only continue to get bigger and bigger. Who doesn’t love a good video?

Any business that is not using video is making a big mistake. The Cisco Report maintains that there will be 1.9 billion internet video users, excluding mobile only users, up 1.4 billion by 2021. This is a great time to be an affiliate marketer!

Video marketing should definitely be a big part of your social media strategy. If you’re not producing video you’re probably falling behind. What do you think about video marketing? Let us know in the comment section below.

Happy videoing!

  1. Thank you for this very informative post.  I’ll admit, my video creation schedule is virtually non-existent.  I create posts all the time but don’t use video as much as I should.  I had no idea that video had SEO opportunities, I just thought they helped my post and site SEO.

Much of what you recommend here is similar to the steps I take with still images in my posts.  Still, you offer a lot more than that but I was surprised to see the similarities.

I didn’t know there were places to submit videos to multiple sites.  That’s definitely something I’ll have to look into.

I’m going to have to check out EyeSlick too.  It will be interesting to see how things play out down the line.

    Thanks again,

         Scott

    1. Hi Scott

Yes the same way people find your blog content is the same way they find you on you tube by your relevant keywords.

Indeed checkout eyeSlick it’s the future of video marketing. Thanks for commenting.

      All the best

  2. Three trillion video minutes per month? I had to stop and re-read that, that is an incredible amount!

I need to get more active on Youtube, to promote my books. I am an author, and videos can help promote book. I have seen some pretty awesome video book trailers. Keywords are important; only a few months ago I knew nothing about keywords, but I have learned in the meantime 😉 And now that I read your article, your advice makes perfect sense to me. I didn’t know about tags either, only on Twitter, but I have learned since then that tags are used for everything online … Spot the used-to-be-clueless person here, lol.

I just have one question. How do I include SEO in my videos? I know how it works for blog posts, but I have no idea how to implement this for videos. Why do you think eyeSlick will soon be taking over? I have never heard of them, but I would like to find out more. I will definitely have a look at their site.

Thank you for this very useful article. You gave me a lot of great tips today!

    1. Hi Christine

I had to do a double take myself. It just amazing how big video marketing is going to get. When you use your relevant keywords in your video title, description, url, etc. you optimize your video for the search engines. So when someone searching on YouTube using those words your video will come up.

I believe eyeSlick will out do YouTube because it’s a live video platform the merges video and retail (vTail) together and at the moment the only platform of it’s kind. Check it out you’ll see what i mean. Thanks

      All the best

  12. Rarely seen as an educational, informative and generally amazing article as this one was! Honestly; informative enough but short and simple enough. I don’t like either mess of everything or sites without relevant content, this was just in optimal balance I would say. Something new ways to approach videos and/or social media promoting, even for me who though to know it all (not really lol) !
    Kind regards -Jesse

  13. Wow, thank you for the tips! I plan on making videos for my business and this article came just in time. I didn’t know about the article video robots. That’s fantastic as I was wondering how I could convert all my articles to videos. I have a lot of them and this could take me ages. I am also surprised about Eyeslick. It’s the first time I hear about this too. And it’s quite cool. Do you think that people will stop reading articles and just watch videos? This could be the end of blogging? If so, this is really scary!

Thank you for this excellent post!

  14. Thanks for your Youtube rundown Eric.

I have thought about using Youtube, but shied away initially as I start my online business progression, but I am seeing even more benefit in looking at this avenue now that you have outlined those tips and guidelines.

It seems relatively simple if some time is devoted to it, and the SEO reminder is timely as well, to ensure that it quickly features through Google.

  15. Hi there, I have posted more than 30 videos in the last 3 weeks and didn’t get much traffic. I shouldn’t even write much, in fact, no traffic on the videos. I am going to be following your methods right today and gonna wait for another 2 weeks to see if that works. And sure of one thing now- the mistakes that I have done while posting my videos. I am going to be correcting all such mistakes today and work accordingly. Cheers for that! Great efforts, thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi LK

Glad my post of help to you. Check out eyeSlick as well it’s the future of video marketing with income streams YouTube doesn’t offer. Good luck with your videos.

  16. This article is very eye opener. I have learned a lot in just a few minutes of your posts.

The video promoting article introduced me to eyeSlick. Never heard about it. Someone dethroning You Tube sounds futurist.

I went to your post of web design and I read about iWriter. My next thing will be going there to take a look. Maybe writing for somebody will give me some little extra cash. Who knows?

Very informative and Thank You for enlighting me in this.

    Michelle

  17. hello, Eric and thanks for these tips about promoting our YouTube Videos.

I’m not quite there yet but I am looking forward to the opportunity of making my first video and these tips are going to help a lot along with the other training I’m receiving.

You mentioned adding videos to your site.  That is one thing that I have started to do, not my own but videos that are concerned with my niche.  They are easy to find and come with a code to share. Plus, one can draw from others experience and get an idea for how it’s done.

An article converter… that’s not something I have heard of.  The free version doesn’t give you very much. You see thirty-second commercials on TV.  I think one would really have to be able to edit very well in order to make a 30-second video.  the better option would be to upgrade to at least the middle option.  Ten minutes gives you a lot more time to say what needs to be said.

The one thing I want to mention is that, no matter what you learn or what you use to market your videos, and in spite of what Cindy Donovan says, “Revealed: Beginner-Friendly Income & Traffic System WORKS EVEN IF YOU’VE NEVER MADE A CENT ONLINE”.  Whoever takes advantage of this opportunity is still going to have to do the work.  EyeSlick is not a magic weapon and neither is Article Video Robot.

These both look like real good resources and I am going to check them out.  I think they will be a great aid to our online marketing but we will still have to work and it will take time.  The WORK is what will reward us in the end.

    Wayne

    1. Hi Wayne

Thanks for commenting. I’ve heard of all those things you mentioned. You  must have not read my post Success Is In The Grind Warriors Come Out To Play you have to put in work to succeed. I never look for magic weapons I am the magic weapon. Nothing works unless I work. I’m always on the lookout for things that can help in my journey toward success I think eyeSlick is the future of video marketing, but it doesn’t mean anything if it’s not used. Thanks for sharing.

      All the best

      Eric
