To be a success at anything you have to love what you do. You must develop a warrior’s mindset. Which means you are focused on your craft, learning the skills and techniques that will get you to master status.

So, when I say warriors come out to play that means getting into the grind. You will never be successful if you don’t make the grind a daily part of your life. Nothing comes easy it takes effort.

The warrior is fearless. They have a never give up, fight to the death mentality. That is how you must be when it comes to your business. You want nothing to stop you. You will fight and overcome any hurdle until you reach your goal of business success.

Success Is In The Grind Warriors Come Out To Play

“A warrior with a cause is the most dangerous soldier of all.” – Michael Scott

Everyone’s idea of business success will not be the same. Someone’s idea of business success may be having 500 visitors a day to their website, while another may feel like 1000 visitors a day and another may feel like 5000 visitors constitutes business success.

Also, when it comes to monetary terms someone may feel like earning $2000 a month from their website is being successful, while someone else may feel like $5000 a month and another may feel $10,000 a month constitutes business success.

  • Worry
  • Laziness
  • No Drive
  • Self-Pity
  • Complacency
  • Ego
  • Competing Against Others
  • Not Focused
  • Easily Distracted
  • No Discipline
  • Negative Attitude
  • Not Determined
  • Fast Food Mentality
  • Excuses
  • No Belief In Oneself
  • Can’t Take Advice
  • Stop Training
  • Too Much Social Media
  • Too Much TV
  • Not Being Consistent

These are just few of the enemies that can throw you off your game, and if you can think of others please place them in the comment section below.

Important to realize that in my experience all of them are lethal to success. So, I can’t begin to say that one is worse than the other. Your thoughts what do you say? And how can we get rid of these enemies to success?

You've got to love the grind

You’ve Got To Love The Grind

What is the grind? The grind is the work! You have to be willing to put in the work. Whatever you’re after put the time in. There are no short cuts. There are no steps you can miss.

You’ve heard it said that if you love what you do it will never feel like work. I believe that whole heartily. It’s going to take blood, sweat and tears to reach the top. All out effort. Day in and day out. Up early in the morning and going to bed late. Putting in work pushing to be the best at what you do.

“Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay its price.” – Sun Tzu

There have been plenty of days when I’ve look up and it’s 10pm or 11pm and I’ve not eaten anything all day. I’ve just been in front of my lap top writing. I love to write so putting out content never seems like work to me. Speaking of which it’s almost 6pm and I’ve haven’t had a bite yet.

My wife constantly tells me, “that’s not good.” “You have to take breaks and eat.” I tell her, baby I try, but when I get in the zone, I lose track of time.

Equally, the same when it comes to building a website. I’ve watched the sunrise a few mornings because I’ve been building a website all night. When you love what you do it’s exhilarating!

“A warrior does not give up what he loves, he finds the love in what he does.” – Dan Millman

To be sure you have to find the niche you love, something that excites you and not just because you feel it’s a good way to make money. Yes, I know you want to make money, but if you don’t love what you’re doing you’re not going to work at it hard enough to make any.

For this reason, I believe that when you love what you do it’s easy to defeat the enemies of success. Thus, when they rear their ugly head, you’ll give them a front snap kick of persistence to their ugly mug.

How to stay motivated warriors

How To Stay Motivated Warriors

Motivation begins in the mind. How you think about what you do will either inspire you or hinder you. When you understand that power comes from within (your own mind) you will know how to stay on track.

Scientist say that the mind cannot tell the difference from a real experience or an imagined one. That is why coaches tell athletes to visualize their performance. Visualize your outcome. See and feel how it will be to become a success in your chosen niche.

Mind is not only the creator, but the only creator of all there is. The circumstances you face, the obstacles in your way or whatever may arise must be dealt with in the mind.

How do you honestly feel about the future? Are you excited about the possibilities of owning a successful online business can bring? Do you think you live in a better world today than you did 10, 20 or 30 years ago? Your view of the future and the world around you will either help you or hinder you from achieving the success you want.

Incidentally the media will feed you the fear of scarcity. There are to many people in the world. The resources of the world are dwindling. That lack and limitation are everywhere.

“We chose whether to be warriors or to be ordinary.” – Carlos Castaneda

As a result, you buy into the scarcity mindset, and at the first few drops of snow flakes you run to the grocery store and buy up the milk, bread and water thinking they may run out and you not have enough in case you get snowed in. The majority of the time it never happens. Have you ever been snowed in without any food or water let us know in the comment section below?

Usually this is the technique the scammers use to get the unsuspecting person. They make the person feel if they don’t buy there product right now, they will miss out on making $1,000’s and $1,000’s of dollars. HOGWASH!

The moment you realize the world is more abundant than you thought. There is more than enough to go around in your life, the life of your grandchildren and your great-grandchildren and beyond. Things will start happening for you, because this little change in mindset is the key that open doors to opportunity.

There is more opportunity than ever before. The world’s biggest problems are world’s biggest opportunities.

Take control of your self-talk

Take Control of Your Self-Talk

You constantly talk to yourself whether you are aware of it not. You are bombarded daily by the media, by conversations around you and conversations you are engaged in. Thus, it sparks conversations you hold with yourself whether positive or negative which most are unaware.

Become in tune with yourself what are you thinking? Being aware of your self-talk will set the tone as you go about your day. Positive self-talk is a great motivator in keeping you moving forward.

Take control of your negative thoughts. When a negative thought enters your mind replace it with a positive one by sounding the positive thought out loud. By hearing your own voice speaking in a positive manner will shift your mind into positive thinking.

Get rid of stinking thinking. Change your thoughts and change your life. Change your perspective and you alter your reality.

“The path of the Warrior is lifelong, and mastery is often simply staying on the path.” – Richard Strozzi Heckler

In conclusion in order for things to change you must change. The only constant is change. You can no longer sit back and relax. You have to keep learning. Constant education.

You are living in a world where anything is possible. That alone should get you excited! Your mindset matters. Mindset is everything. Mindset rules.

To get what you want success is in the grind warriors come out to play. Love the grind, grow, build and learn. Keep moving forward, standing still is death.

You are a warrior.

  1. You have hit the nail on the head.In business to be successful it has to do alot with your mindset. I have a website myself where I talk about how you can get rid of your negative self talk and replace it with the good self talk. Procrastination and wasted time also I believe are real success killers. Like a warrior I love the analogy, because if you look at the successful people in life, they all have some things in common like a warrior. One of the biggest is focus and they are always keeping the goal in mind. Loved the article, cant wait till the next one.

  2. Hey, this was a great post of keeping focused and doing what you love. The one big thing I take away from this as it got me thinking about my own behaviors is watching my self talk. Man, sometimes I just too much into my own head and the negative stuff start to overwhelm me and I have to force myself to go for a walk and be in nature for a bit to get my wits about me.

I like the list of worriers enemies as well. You got me thinking about a lot of stuff and what I need to pay closer attention to in my daily life.

    Thanks for this great post.

  3. Thanks for this great article. It is very well written and full of inspirational ideas. I’m a major workaholic so when you said you have to love the grind I can relate to that to some extent but workaholism is also a little different. Like for me working Is like the default. For example, it’s almost time for me to go to bed, and I’m still squeezing in as much work as possible. I suppose I can see the benefits of being a workaholic. I certainly did a lot today. You are a very good inspirational writer and I look forward to reading more from you. I will think about who I could send this article to because I might have some friends who would like to read it. Take care.

    1. Hi Charles

  4. I absolutely loved this post! I am a firm believer too that it is all mindset and many do in fact have the scarcity view on life or think they will never be able to live the online job lifestyle. It is more that they were taught in life to work the 9 to 5 job to make the  big boys at the top the big paycheck and not educate themselves on how they can be their own boss. With hard work anything and everything is possible. Thanks again a great share.

  5. Thanks for this wonderful article. Most people underestimate the effectiveness of putting in small amounts of work on a daily basis. My online business is a blog, and instead of trying to do a 3000 word article as fast as possible after a hard day at my normal job, I put in daily work such as 500-700 words. The goal is more achievable and doesn’t seem as daunting as putting 3000 words all at once. I have created a successful business doing this and I agree mindset is absolutely everything! Cheers.

  6. I thought it was a kind of Nintendo or Playstation game and then I understood it… a warrior is a person who would do whatever it takes and the grind are the work or the challenges a person or the so-called warrior must face and win. In our lives, we need to face the fear, the problems, the life’s surprises. I have written a number of blogs at Wealthy Affiliate under the name megawinner which deals with the same thoughts. We must be a warrior in this life, a man who runs from a fight is not worthy to live. Indeed the greatest enemy of a warrior is his fear, doubt, and worry including all that was written in this blog such as procrastination, complacency, therefore, a warrior has the capacity to change himself it warrants and turns himself into a much better person not once but every time. A warrior is not just for a day, it is a lifetime role we play in life. It does not mean we always fight, it means we are ready to fight anytime to make things right and better. Great job.

  7. Thanks for this post, getting into the grind is certainly a common theme, that can be applied to your job, your new or old business, the sporting arena, or any other pursuit that you are undertaking.

Finding a way to crack the code so to speak requires an ability to get into the grind and work through any issues that come your way, whether that be competition taking you or your business on, your business being impacted by website development issues, or capital injection, which can be a crucial issue if your business is not making money in its infancy but you feel you need to pour more cash into it.

Discipline and focus are a couple of big ones that I feel are key to your success.

Distraction from your business is also one to look out for, as we can be so easily distracted by a multitude of things in everyday life.

  8. Eric, when someone loves what they do and has a string passion for it, they do it so well, even if its just a hobby, it becomes a talent and that is evident in your writing. I can say that this piece is very inspiring and becoming a warrior is not a days job. One needs to fall in love with the grind, take away the negative thoughts by replacing them with the good ones. In the and, we choose ourselves to wither be warriors or ordinary people. Honestly, I’m inspired.

  9. Thanks for this awesome and encouraging post! That list of enemies is one that has reared its ugly head in my life way more than I have wished. One of my own enemies is perfectionism. If something doesn’t go how I expect it to, or if I fall short of what I expect of myself, I get bogged down in so many negative thoughts. However, I have to push on and push forward to move toward what I want.

Thanks for the reminder to keep going! It’s really helpful.

    1. Hi Steve

I’m glad you found my post helpful. Thanks for for adding to the list indeed perfectionism can halt because you can feel that nothing is ever good enough. Yet when you understand that none of us are perfect that we all have flaws and imperfections you will be able to move forward knowing that everyone is just like you. Thanks for sharing.

  10. My discussion about the topic is that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. Everyone deserves success and to be happy. These are good tools and tips to help others and many will benefit from reading this as I did. Success is seen and achieved differently from person to person and culture to culture.

  11. It is very true that you must love what you do if you are to be successful.  And hard work, and paying attention to detail can lead to that success.  I think that so few experience actual success because they lack the ability to remain focus.  They do not possess the stamina and endurance to follow a project all the way through, from the beginning to the end.  I am curious, do you think this determination can be taught or is it just innately within a person?

    1. Hi My Daily Pointers

Thank you for commenting. As for your question I don’t think determination is automatically innate in  a person. I think it’s a learned behavior going through the trials and tribulations of life. And when you become crystal clear on Your Why you become more determined to see it fulfilled. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Hi Eric,

You have presented quite an interesting article on Success Is the Grind Warriors Come Out To Play.  Very motivating indeed. It is very true that the mind is very powerful and people who sometimes have  very negative and low self esteem oftentimes seek validation from others of like-mind for their failure.

A strong person will accept responsibility for their failure and do better to change; and as you have pointed out, for anyone to be successful and stay successful, they will have to exhibit that strong sense of self belief in their ability and disassociated with negative elements.

I will agree with you that procrastination is the thief of time and plays a very big role in hindering people from achieving their goals. It is so very easy to say “i am not up to the task today, tomorrow I’ll do it”. Without realizing it, time slips by so quickly.

Self doubt, procrastination, laziness and fear of loss ect., are all associated with failure. The difference with  successful  people is that they will see blocks not as building blocks but as stepping stones.

    1. Hi MazieD

Thank you for your insightful comment. The points you make are very real. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Thank you very much for your post. It is inspirational. I suddenly feel something about my online business, which I started some while ago, but has no apparent progress.

I don’t take my business as in the grind warriors coming out to play. I work on my online business not in the consistent way, not as an warrior. You are absolutely right that “The warrior is fearless. They have a never give up, fight to the death mentality”.

I need to have “fight to death mentality” toward my business. So powerful and with this, nothing will stop my progress and success of my business.

It is kind of you sharing such powerful message. I remember this now and my business success in the make.

    1. Hi Anthony

I’m glad my post was able to help you find a new found zeal for your business. And I know that if you stay in the Warrior Way you will succeed. Thanks for sharing.

  14. I think every person who reads this article will relate to your Enemies to the Warrior Way list.  Wow.  I can tell you personally I’ve battled these enemies on more than one occasion.  You stated “competing against others,” but how about “listening to the nay-sayers”?  Sometimes people who may have the best of intentions try to talk you out of your dreams.  They don’t understand that it takes time to succeed and that we should never give up.

    1. Hi Babsie

Thank you for that add to the list listening to nay-sayers. Some will try to talk you out of your dream intentionally while others will do it speaking from their own fears. Like you said they don’t understand success takes time. Thanks for sharing.

      All the best Warrior

  15. Hi, Amazingly confronting to read your post. I’ve recently acknowledged that my Warrior mindset is not fully developed and for that, I’ve been falling to pray for the enemies of success. Especially the laziness, the stop training and the procrastination or losing track of my Ultimate goals are staring me in the face more times than I would like to. Thanks for the book advice and the better self-talk. I promise myself to tell myself outloud more often: I am doing this!! Yes, I can!!

Thanks for the inspiration and support. Love, Nanda
